Colchester United have signed experienced centre-back Luke Prosser on a two-year deal from Southend United.
The 28-year-old, who started his career as a youngster at Spurs, made more than 150 league and cup appearances for the Blues, during a six-year spell at Roots Hall.
Prosser had a loan spell at League Two champions Northampton Town towards the back end of last season, helping them win promotion to the third tier.
He became a free agent following the expiry of his contract and has now linked up with the U's, where he will be hoping to secure promotion under John McGreal next season.
