COLCHESTER’S Hi-Tension Trampoline Club had a highly successful day as they came away with a number of trophies from their first competition of 2016.

The regional open event at Brentwood School Sports Centre allowed club members who are not currently under the NDP structure were eligible to take part and several of those were competing for the first time.

In the Band One women’s under-13 group, and one of those competing for the first time, was Alana Hornsby, who achieved first place out of 12 competitors with a total score of 46.70 – nearly three whole marks ahead of the second-placed gymnast.

In the under-11 women, Lexi White achieved second place with a score of 46.30 and Evie Faber took third with 45.00, while the under-nine women had Elise Mills-Smith also taking third with a score of 44.40.

In Band Two under-11 women, Willow Talbot achieved second place out of 22 competitors with a score of 45.90.

In the Band Three category, Amber Bradley claimed second place in the under-13 women with a score of 47.06 out of 17 competitors and also won team gold with her team-mates Alice Chatters, Sophie Young and Freya Williams, who were placed fifth, sixth and 17th respectively.

In the Band Five under-13 women, Lily Patrick was second with a score of 48.63.
