ESSEX University’s computer science student Diego Cisneros Vitor masterminded a fine debut victory at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Cisneros proved he had the biggest heart after defeating Cambridge University’s Jason McCammon, in his first-ever bout.
McCammon roared across the ring to land a heavy left right early on, much before Cisneros had chance to get out from the corner.
The taller Cambridge University boxer unloaded punch after punch in the first minute.
But he seemingly ran out of steam towards the end of the first round.
That allowed Peruvian Cisneros the chance to organise himself and reply with some strong right hands.
The Essex University boxer started to dominate proceedings in the second round.
He backed his opponent to the ropes and steadied him, before landing a solid right hand that shook McCammon to his knees.
The round finished with Cisneros on top and looking the fresher of the two boxers.
This proved the case in the final round, with Cisneros chasing McCammon around the ring and hurting him repeatedly with straight rights and upper-cuts.
It proved to be a very good round for the Essex University boxer.
And although McCammon offered an occasional flurry, Cisneros imposed himself on the proceedings and emerged a comfortable winner.
