THE excellent golfing conditions saw a good-sized field turn out to compete in the Playgolf Colchester Four Seasons Greensomes competition.

Great course conditions were evident and showed with the large winning scores on show.

Trevor Barnett teamed up with Stephen Allen, carding 45 points, to take victory on countback.

The pairing of Steve Marr and Peter Stothard matched Barnett and Allen with 45 points, but narrowly missed out to a stronger back-nine score.

Brian Williams and Dean Rainbird carded 41 to take third, just a point ahead of Glenn Saunders and Steve Ainley.

Brian Banks carded a nett 69 to win division one of the senior monthly medal.

Banks won by a point from James Greenfield who carded a nett 70 to take a countback decision for second place, from Paul Woods in third, leaving Peter Hughes out of the top three in fourth place.

Peter Smith took pole-position in division two, on countback, from Des McCarron, after both carded one-under par nett 69s.

Patrick Driver returned a nett 72 for third place.

Jack Potter won the junior stableford with a dazzling score of 44 points, five ahead of second placed Jack Blackman who carded a solid 39.

Jonathan Tait carded 38 points to take third place.
