Dean Bowditch, Ipswich Town's forgotten man, marked his return to action with a goal as Town's reserves beat Leyton Orient 3-1.
Meanwhile, winger Kevin McLeod made his comeback from injury as Colchester United's reserves played out a goal-less draw with Oxford United reserves in the Pontin's Holidays Combination League.
McLeod played his first 45 minutes since undergoing a groin operation last month, before being taken off at half-time at Layer Road.
Anthony Wordsworth came close to winning the game for Colchester near the end but was denied by Oxford keeper, Gareth Tucker.
