England Sevens star David Smith paid a visit to Colchester RFC on Sunday to present his old club with one of his England international shirts.

Smith, 18, played his mini and youth rugby at Colchester Rugby Club until he joined Northampton Saints Academy in 2005.

The move helped him towards his dream of playing for England when he played for the National under-18 team when it won the Home Nations Championship in 2006.

In January this year, Smith played for England under-19s against Italy.

The teenager was called up to the England Sevens squad and has appeared in the IRB World Sevens Series tournaments at Wellington, New Zealand and San Diego in the USA, scoring a try on his debut against Papua New Guinea.
