Joe Dunne spoke highly of his new signings at Colchester United's Open Day this afternoon.
The U's manager took part in a Question and Answer special at the annual event, which saw hundreds flock to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling and defender Sean Clohessy, who signed for the club earlier this summer from Kilmarnock, also answered questions from fans at the Open Day, where the U's players took part in a special training session, signed autographs and posed for their annual team picture.
U's boss Dunne said: "They will add competition for places in the squad.
"Sean's a player I admired when he played for that team down the road and he's got great character and attitude.
"He brings steel and determination and he's a winner.
"Ben's a young player with tremendous potential.
"Dan Holman is a real coup from the non-league and we've secured a player who I believe is a goalscorer and they don't come cheap.
"Chris Lewington is a senior keeper and we have two senior keepers who will fight it out for the number one position."
