Jim Magilton believes Colchester United are more than capable of continuing their red-hot form in 2007.
The U's are sixth in the table - occupying the last play-off spot - after a blistering start to life in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Ipswich Town boss Magilton - who pits his team against their neighbours at Portman Road tomorrow - sees no reason why they should fall away in the second half of the season.
"Colchester deserve so much credit - they've performed extremely well and have surprised a lot of people," Magilton told the Evening Gazette.
"They've got a very solid base to work from, they've been very consistent and they've got two strikers (Chris Iwelumo and Jamie Cureton) who are bang in form.
"We'll have to watch them tomorrow."
