Colchester United will now step up their search for a new goalkeeper, following Mark Cousins’ departure.
The U's now only have one senior custodian on their books, Sam Walker, following Cousins' move to League Two side Dagenham and Redbridge.
Cousins was offered the chance to stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium but instead decided to sign for the Daggers on a two-year deal.
U's boss Joe Dunne said: “It’s important now that we can find another goalkeeper to provide some competition and push Sam on this season and we’ll be working hard to do just that.”
