Lacklustre Colchester United fell to a hugely disappointing 4-0 home defeat at the hands of lowly Notts County this afternoon.
The U's started brightly, with Clinton Morrison and Alex Gilbey both denied by Magpies keeper Bartosz Bialkowski early on.
But Notts County went ahead just before the half hour through Jack Grealish, who converted from Jamal Campbell-Ryce's low cross.
And the visitors' lead was doubled just before half-time when Morgan Fox netted from close range following Callum Ball's delivery.
Colchester tried hard to get back into the game in the second half and Macauley Bonne came close to scoring.
But after Grealish struck the post for the visitors, Callum McGregor scored a third for the visitors with a sweet strike, with three minutes remaining.
And Gary Liddle wrapped up an emphatic win for the visitors two minutes later, to condemn Colchester to a heavy home defeat.
