Colchester United are in “advanced discussions” with other potential new signings following the capture of Craig Eastmond.
The midfielder has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the U's, once his current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of next month.
U’s boss Joe Dunne is keen to strengthen his squad this summer, after only avoiding relegation on the final day of the season.
He wants his side to be much more of a force in League One, as he prepares for his first full campaign as manager.
And after making Eastmond his first summer signing, the U's boss said he is making positive progress in assembling his squad for the 2013-14 campaign.
Dunne said: “We’re in advanced discussions with potential new signings.
“We’ve offered them deals.
“We’ve done all we can at this point and now it’s a case of waiting."
