Alex Gilbey cannot wait to realise his Wembley dream.
The young Colchester United midfielder is preparing for the biggest game of his career, this weekend.
Gilbey is set to be named in Newport County’s starting line-up to take on Wrexham, in this Sunday’s Blue Square Bet Premier promotion final.
The former U’s youth team skipper has excelled during his loan spell with the Exiles, where he has helped them get to within touching distance of returning to the Football League.
Now the talented 18-year-old is set to be rewarded with a starting place in this weekend’s all-Welsh play-off final.
Gilbey said: “It’s like a dream come true for me.
“It’s been so exciting building up to the big game this week and everyone is really focused."
