Man, 73, arrested in park on suspicion of sexual grooming
A MAN has been arrested in Promenade Park on suspicion of sexual grooming after police received a tip off.
The 73-year-old man is suspected to have arranged to meet a girl under the age of 16 after talking online.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "A 73-year-old man from Maldon was arrested shortly after 1pm today after information was passed to Essex Police officers by a third party.
"He is suspected of arranging to meet a child under the age of 16 and sexual grooming.
"The man remains in custody at Chelmsford Police Station."
