ADULT Community Learning are rolling out more courses across Maldon.
The County wide scheme offers adults qualifications in topics ranging from English and Maths to pottery and dance.
Rob Hill, 42, from Maldon, recently completed computer courses at Maldon ACL.
Rob is an engineer by trade, but after being made redundant he decided to learn a new skill.
He was very nervous about walking back into a classroom but explains how the tutor was very welcoming.
“The tutor was absolutely fantastic, he was very supportive,” said Rob.
“He knew I was nervous and understood I hadn’t been near a computer in a very long time. It was definitely the right course for me.
“The whole thing has been fantastic and there is nothing that they could improve to make it a better experience. ACL has changed my life.
“I didn’t have the confidence to apply for an office job but Im now applying for jobs and currently doing work experience in the planning office at Maldon District Council.
“This qualification has enable me to have the complete career change I was looking for. I would highly recommend it to anyone.”
Rob leaves the course with a Level 1 and 2 qualification in British Computer Science Microsoft Office, and a Level 1 and 2 qualification in a database course.
