A 27-year-old man was left with facial injuries after three men are said to have forced their way into his home and threatened him with a knife.
The victim was assaulted and left with facial injuries after the incident on Thursday.
Police were called to a report of an aggravated burglary at the home in Main Road, Harwich at 10.40am on January 14.
A spokesman for Essex Police said nothing was stolen during the incident.
A 38-year-old man from Dovercourt and a 32-year-old man from Harwich have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and taken to Clacton Police Station for questioning.
