WET weather could not put off hardy seadogs and landlubbers enjoying the annual Sea Festival on Harwich Quay.
Despite torrential rain last Sunday, a range of stalls and activities lined the roads to raise money for various local charities.
There was also live music throughout the day, duck racing, a tug boat display and much more to keep the brave crowds entertained after the event was officially opened by Harwich and Dovercourt Rotary Club president Andy Fern and mayor Dave McLeod.
The event is jointly organised by Harwich RNLI, the Harwich Harbour Board and the rotary club and spokesman Greg Bloss said the day had proved successful in spite of the inclement conditions.
He said: “People still turned up despite the weather and people kept coming right up until the mid afternoon when there was brief respite from the rain.
“The lifeboat display had to be cancelled because the crew were called out on shouts but everything else went ahead as planned.
“There was some amazing live music including a brilliant classical singer who did three or four numbers for the crowd who had stayed.”
