YOUNGSTERS are hoping to hit the right notes with a new music area at a primary school.
The school council and teachers at Highfields Primary School, in Lawford, teamed up with Axa’s Hearts In Action team (left) to clear up an area in the school grounds, which they hope will be used for concerts and other musical recitals.
The space had previously been overgrown with plant life and greenery, which had to be cleaned up by the volunteers and pupils on Wednesday.
Year Five teacher Chris Deane said: “The space was overgrown with brambles and bushes, so the team from Axa stepped in to help with the initial clearing.
“With additional support from members of the school council, the volunteers made an amazing difference in one day.”
