STRIKE action planned at a high school this week has been suspended.
Teachers at Harwich and Dovercourt High School were expected to walk out on Tuesday and Wednesday in a row over management practices but the industrial action has now been suspended after a lengthy meeting on Friday.
A spokesman for the Harwich and Dovercourt High School said: “Following constructive negotiations held at Harwich and Dovercourt High School on Friday January 16, it has been agreed to suspend industrial action called by the NASUWT and NUT for the week beginning January 19 to enable further negotiations to take place to resolve the dispute.”
Students in Years Eight, Nine and Ten missed lessons last Thursday as members of the NASUWT took to the picket line.
