A DEFIBRILLATOR has been presented to Halstead Town Football Club.

Daniel Robinson and Sons funded the defibrillator and it will be stored at Halstead’s Milbank Stadium.

It was handed over before Saturday’s clash with Haverhill FC.

The club are continuing to fundraise for a second defibrillator, which they plan to store at Courtauld’s Sports Ground where 15 youth teams play, as well as a local rugby and bowls club.

Bob Wright, of Daniel Robinson and Sons, said: “We are happy to have provided this defibrillator, and will be more than happy to continue to support the football club.

“We are celebrating our 125th anniversary this year and we have developed quite a tradition of helping the community whenever we can and that is important to us.”

Halstead Town FC began fundraising for two defibrillators following the tragic death of an 18-yearold Jack Atkinson suffered a heart attack while playing in a Sunday League game in Clacton in November.
