TWENTY TWO lucky of the Gosfield residents got the chance to visit their twinned village in France.

Members of the Gosfield Twinning Association visited the village of Chouze Sur Loire in France between May 27 and May 30.

The group took part in a visit to the festival of Roses in Chedigny, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud and the Chouze River Festival where there was a spectacular fireworks display.

A painting, by local artist Roy Cottrell was given as a gift to thank the French group for welcoming the Gosfield Twinning Association into their home.

A spokesman for the group said: "The hospitality, food, wine and time to renew old friendships were all greatly enjoyed.

"Members were assured that whichever way Britain votes in the forthcoming Referendum, friendships will never change."

Next year is the 25th anniversary of the association and members from the French village will be visiting Gosfield.

The Gosfield Twinning are on the look out for new members, with no need to speak French.
