A Halstead care home is celebrating the launch of its new dementia suite.
The Care UK team at the Colne View care home, in Dame Mary Walk, Colchester Road, is inviting the local community to join in the celebrations for the official opening of the Woodland Walk suite on Tuesday.
From 2pm to 5pm, visitors can drop-in to the care home to take a first look at the suite, which will offer specialist dementia care for 12 older people.
To mark the opening, residents, Caroline Curtis and Guy Lyster, will join with guest of honour, the Deputy Mayor of Halstead, Shirley Diver, to perform the all-important ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Throughout the afternoon, residents at Colne View will also be taking part in baking activities and there will be live entertainment from singer Chris Gordon to get everyone in the party spirit.
