A Halstead care home has made a dramatic turn around in six months.

Attwood’s Manor Care Home, in Mount Hill, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on July 8 and a report into this was published on Tuesday.

The inspection found the care home was mainly meeting requirements, although it still required improvements in how safe it was.

The care home was found to be good in how effective, caring, responsive and well-led the service was.

This is a vast improvement on the previous inspection which happened in January.

This found the care home to require improvements in how effective, caring and responsive it was.

It was also inadequate in how safe and well-led the service was.

The most recent report reads: “The home was shabby in parts and we identified some risks to people using the service in relation to the environment.

“However, overall we identified significant improvements to the service."
