The Great Halstead Bake-Off is coming to Holy Trinity Primary School.

The event, organised by Jen Vincent, 34, whose son Oliver attends the infant school, is being run in conjunction with the school’s fete.

Money raised from the bake-off will go to The Willow Foundation, which supported headteacher Jon Smith and his wife, Caroline, when she was diagnosed with cancer.

The charity paid for the family to visit Legoland after Caroline’s first bout of chemotherapy.

Half of the entrance fee and money raised when the cakes are auctioned off at the end of the bake will go towards the charity.

Alongside the competition, there will be stalls, Pimms, a barbecue, raffle, displays, a tombola and more at the school, in Beridge Road, Halstead, on June 13 between 1pm and 4pm.

Anyone is welcome to take part - pre-entry is not required.

Entrance is £1.50 for adults and 50p for children.
