A Halstead mum has raised an impressive amount for a charity which helped after her son’s accident.
Mariea Johnson and her husband Kevin spent a weekend decorating their house with hundreds of Christmas lights.
They first started the annual tradition last year to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust after her son, Hadyn Vaughan-Peacock, 15, suffered a massive bleed on his brain following a fall from his bike at the Ramsey Road skate park.
They raised £245 this year which will go towards the charity’s Acorn House at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, which families can stay overnight in while their child is being treated at the hospital.
