A Halstead couple are going Christmas crazy to raise money for charity.
Mariea and Kevin Johnson’s house in Parker Way will become the neighbourhood’s star attraction as they prepare to deck it and the garden with hundreds of lights this weekend.
The pair first started adorning their home with lights last year after Mrs Johnson’s son Hadyn Vaughan-Peacock, 15, suffered a massive bleed on his brain following a fall from his bike at the Ramsey Road skate park last August.
The Ramsey School pupil was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge when he became unresponsive and underwent a three-hour emergency operation.
Last year, the pair raised money for Essex and Suffolk air ambulances but this year want to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust, who provide accommodation for families of children seriously ill in hospital.
