A new road in Halstead named by a nine-year-old girl has been officially unveiled.
Daisy Stokes-Shinn, a pupil at Richard De Clare Primary School, won a competition to name the road, just off Ronald Road, after she thought of Church View Close.
She said she was inspired by the good view of St Andrew’s Church.
Town mayor David Hume, staff from Greenfields Community Housing and representatives from construction company Indecon attended the opening event on Friday **12th**.
Richard de Clare headteacher Sarah Donnelly said: “I am very proud of the research and background work Daisy did, she went through lots of different options.
“It is brilliant to be involved in the local community in this way.”
