New homeowners could move in in the next the couple of months after work to transform a former factory site is well underway.
Bloor Homes started work on the first phase of a project to build 193 homes on the former Premdor factory site in Sible Hedingham in April.
Sales for the first part of the estate, Earl’s Garden, have been launched with some three-bedroom houses being sold for between £240,000 and £250,000.
Under the terms of a section 106 agreement with Braintree Council, Bloor Homes must allocate £60,000 towards artwork on the site and the provision of a small park towards the front of the £27million development.
