New play equipment is set to be installed at Old Heath Recreation Ground, Colchester.
Once completed next week, the new playground can be used by youngsters aged three and over.
Colchester Council has worked with parents and residents on the scheme.
The site, next to the current play area, will include a slide, net bridge, climbing wall and fireman’s pole.
The project, costing £9,408, will be funded by money developers pay to improve areas which may be affected by their building projects.
