A CELEBRITY football match to raise money for a baby bereavement group takes place this weekend.

The family fun day will see two teams play a sponsored football match at FC Clacton to raise money for a cause close to Georgia Boyton and partner James Regan’s hearts.

The couple, from Clacton, lost their first baby, Dollie-Raie, on March 4 this year.

Georgia gave birth to their still-born daughter after a 32-hour labour.

Sunday’s event is to raise money for the Baby Bereavement Group based at Ipswich Hospital.

Georgia, 21, said: “I’m hoping to raise as much as possible, the more the better – they deserve it.

“This is a public event for all ages from babies to adults so I hope to see everyone there."

A team of celebs are playing as Dollie’s Angels, wearing Arsenal strips.

They face community team Raie of Sunshine in FC Clacton colours.

The celebrity team includes singers TCO and Wordz, former EastEnders star Gary Webster, DeeJheezle, Twin MCs and comedian Shabba.

Marion Knight, founder of Essex Hands, has helped the family raise as much money as possible.

She said: “There’s going to be a lot going on. Everyone is welcome – the more the merrier.”

Georgia praised the support of Ipswich Hospital and the staff who cared for her.

“They were brilliant,” she said.

“They have constantly made sure that I’m okay.

“We are really pleased that we are doing our baby girl proud and turning it into something good.

“I’ll never let my baby girl’s name be forgotten. This is all in memory of her.

Tickets for the family fun day tickets can be bought on the door or online at ticketsource.co.uk/charity.

The Royal Hotel, on Marine Parade East, is also hosting a charity party night on Saturday, splitting donations between the Baby Bereavement Group and local youngster Stanley Newman, who has muscular dystrophy.

Entrance is by donation on the door.
