CLACTON Family Trust has been given the go-ahead to build a new residential care home.
The scheme involves demolishing a cottage on the site in Jaywick Lane and replacing it with an eight-bedroom property.
The plans also involve providing car parking and landscaping the surrounding area.
Tendring Council granted permission for the application.
A similar scheme – which established the principle of development of the site – was granted planning permission in May last year.
But the charity, which helps support older people, resubmitted plans with changes to the design.
Council planning boss Carlo Guglielmi said: “I am delighted that this new facility for the trust will go ahead and will be a benefit to families in the area.
“We managed to achieve an improved access to the site, which residents will be happy about.”
