CLACTON MP Douglas Carswell says he doesn’t mind his new “Spartan” office in Parliament.
Mr Carswell was featured on the BBC documentary Inside the Commons on Tuesday night.
The former Tory MP was given a different office in the House of Commons after being re-elected in Ukip colours at October’s by-election.
MPs’ offices are allocated by the Government whips, which means Mr Carswell could have been handed a less favourable one after he decided to resign from the Conservatives and defect to Ukip.
But replying to a Tweet from the Gazette, asking whether the new office was worse than the last one, Mr Carswell said: “It’s more Spartan, but I don’t mind.
"It’s private and functional.”
