WACKY headteacher Anthony Welch gave astonished pupils the shock of their lives when he leapt out of a box dressed as Spiderman and launched into One Direction's Best Song Ever for Children in Need.
Children shrieked in delight as Mr Welch sprayed webs of 'silly string' into the audience at Clacton's Holland Park Primary School.
The jack-in-the-box headteacher was joined on stage by superhero staff for a flash mob performance during assembly today.
Fellow teacher Matt Moseley, who was dressed as Superman, then picked up Mr Welch and carried him out of the the hall like he was Lois Lane.
School spokesman Kirsty Campbell said: "It's been a crazy day for the school."
