A WOMAN who suffered serious injuries after being attacked with a meat cleaver is said to be recovering well in hospital.
Mum-of-four Ashley Arnold, of Meadow Way, in Jaywick, was attacked late on November 1.
She was discovered in the street by neighbours, who said she had suffered slash wounds to her throat, face, arms and hands.
The victim, who is in her 40s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridgeshire, where her condition was described as critical.
However, police have confirmed she is now out of danger and recovering well.
Kerry Roberts, 48, unemployed and of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on January 12.
