X FACTOR star Marcus Collins brings his debut solo tour to the Princes Theatre on Friday.
Liverpool lad Marcus, who was runner-up on television’s biggest singing contest to Little Mix in 2011, will be performing Motown hits, other soulful tunes and brand new tracks from his forthcoming second album.
The former hairdresser is looking forward to performing some of his all-time favourite songs in Clacton.
“For me, Motown is the epitome of what music is all about.
“I want to work that music and put a little bit of my flavour on it,” he said.
“It’s not all Motown – it’s covers, new songs, songs out now with a special twist, and classics such as Marvin Gaye’s I Heard it Through the Grapevine.”
The show will also feature songs originally performed by Motown-influenced acts such as Chaka Khan and Luther Vandross.
Marcus added: “I want to show my love for those artists who’ve influenced me.”
Marcus Collins is appearing at the Princes Theatre on Friday at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the show are £20 (£18 concessions) on 01255 686633 or at essexlive.co.uk
