A woman has been fined by magistrates after continuing to claim council tax relief despite a change in circumstances.
Jacqueline Ashdown, 53, of Rickstones Road, Witham, claimed a total of £1,834.54 between December 2013 and February 2017 in council tax support which she was no longer entitled to.
Ashdown neglected to report to the council that her earnings had changed.
She pleaded guilty to the offence at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on February 1, and was fined £80, ordered to pay £350 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
