THE ambulance service was sent to take care of a man who came off his motorbike.

He was on the A131 in Braintree at 11am this morning.

A fire crew was sent to the accident, which also involved a car.

Fire crews administered first aid to the 50-year-old man.

He was left in the care of the ambulance service at 11.57am.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance service said: "We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. A patient believed to be in his fifties was taken to  Broomfield Hospital for further treatment. 

"He had hip and chest pain but not believed to be life threatening or serious."
