A NOTLEY High School pupil has been chosen as a finalist for this year's Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.

James Knock, 15, won the regional final at the school last month with his speech titled Silence is Golden.

He will now take part in the Grand Final to be held at the Piccadilly Theatre on Monday, July 4.

He will compete against 14 other young people for a chance to win £5,000.

This includes a £2,000 bursary for the winner and £3,000 for improvements in the winner’s school.
