MORE THAN 200 children took part in a race at their school for charity.
Lyons Hall Primary School in Braintree held a Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
About 220 people ran 3k, about four laps of the school, and donations are still being counted.
The children got their own packs with numbers to decorate with the name of who they were running for, and everyone got a medal at the end.
Sarah Briggs, from Willingale Road in Braintree was at the race with her son Ethan, 10, and daughter Evie, six.
She said: "The children loved it, especially the boys who continued to run after the race was finished.
"There was quite a buzz and it was a really successful event."
