Crime fears as district loses two police stations
Crime rates will soar when Braintree district loses two of its three police stations and most of its PCSOs, it is feared.
Essex Police unveiled proposals to close 15 police stations on Tuesday, including Witham and Halstead.
If the proposals go ahead, the district’s last station, in Braintree, would open from 9am to 5pm.
The closures are expected to save £5million a year in maintenance costs.
