A jester who morris danced 100 miles from London to Norwich is hoping to draw a crowd when he jigs back down Braintree High Street next week.

Rick Jones, 58, embarked on his odd nine-day journey to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

He is due to arrive in Norwich today after retracing the steps of Shakespearian actor, Will Kemp, who danced the same route from through Romford, Brentwood, Braintree and Bury St Edmunds in 1600.

Rick skipped down Braintree High Street on Monday and hopes people will cheer him on when he comes back at around 3pm on Wednesday, May 6.

He said: "I have met a lot of interesting people but I am completely wiped out now.

"I did get stopped by the police and questioned for ten minutes after somebody reported me for dancing in down the middle of the A134.

"Police took it very seriously - they had sirens on and everything - but the great thing is that it's now on record that I danced the whole way.

"I will be dancing down the middle of the High Street - if people can come out to wave me on, that would be the best."

Rick managed to morris dance around 16 miles a day on his journey but admitted he resorted to skipping some of the way.
