SAUSAGES and fish will be given away from a tractor as it travels between Essex and Norfolk for a one-off trip.

The Tremendous Tractor Taste Tour is a bold reminder to support regional food producers, particularly those shortlisted in the Co-op's Producer of the Year awards.

Breakfast will be served in Colchester on Tuesday, January 30 from about 9am in Castle Park.

Passers-by will get treated to products from Ken Green fish merchant, of Clacton, and Wicks Manor Park, near Colchester Castle.

From here the John Deere 6215R tractor will head to Ipswich for lunch and dinner in Norwich, giving away hundreds of free samples along the way.

Both producers will then join the tractor ride to champion votes for the awards.

Everyone who participates in the vote will also be entered into a prize draw to win £150 of shopping vouchers.

Once the votes have been counted, three County Champions will be judged by a panel of food and farming experts in February.

The Producer of the Year will then go on to be crowned at the East of England Co-op’s annual Supplier Supper in March.
