A NEW bus driver had to be helped out of a sticky situation when he made a wrong turning into a narrow lane.
A witness described how she came across the First Essex number 88 bus trying to reverse backwards after coming to a sharp bend in Bakers Lane, Lexden.
The woman said: “I was driving to the A12 via Bakers Lane just after 6.30am Monday morning and the bus was on the bend near Ramparts Farm trying to reverse backwards towards Braiswick.
“There was a man parked up trying to help whoever was driving the bus.
“Myself and two other cars in front managed to get past.”
A First spokesman added: “One of our new drivers missed a turning on route 88.
“They asked for assistance to turn the bus around from a member of the public and then carried on route. There was no delay to the service.”
