FIREFIGHTERS worked through the night to bring a huge barn blaze in Thorpe under control.
The fire broke out in a 12m by 12m barn off Station Road in Thorpe, which contained about 20 tonnes of straw.
Crews reached the scene at about 1.20am this morning, at which point the barn was completely alight.
Reinforcements were called in to help tackle the blaze, with crews from Clacton, Frinton and Weeley all pitching in.
The flames were brought under control by the firefighters just after 3am, but they remained at the scene throughout the morning to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
