A COOK from Colchester has been named a national restaurant chain’s top sous chef.

Charlie Johnson, 29, works for Giraffe in the kitchen of its Bury St Edmund’s branch.

Each year the company holds the “Goscars” to reward top staff at every level, and Charlie, from Old Heath, beat workers at 48 restaurants around the UK.
