MINI lovers gathered to show off their cars for the second year in a row.

Colchester Mini Club held its second annual Mini Show on Sunday *JUN17*.

About 200 Mini owners descended on Marks Tey playing field, in London Road, to show off their pride and joy.

Julie Pygott, vice-chair of the Colchester Mini Club, said: “It was only our second event but it seemed to be a great success.

“Our Colchester club seems to be bucking the trend as there are a number of other clubs have had to cancel their events this year, but we’re still going strong.”

The club has got about 70 members.

“The cars are people’s pride and joy so they love to come down and show everyone,” added Mrs Pygott.

“No two cars are the same, that’s the beauty of it.”

Visitors were also able to enjoy a zumba demonstration in the display arena as well as a kids and dads go-kart challenge.

Awards were also given out, with a unique, custom four-door original Mini taking the award for best Mini in the show.

“This is definitely something we want to be putting on every year,” added Mrs Pygott.
