Master baker Roger Hance proved he's a cut above the rest by scooping an award for making the best loaf in England.
With 35 years of experience under his apron, Mr Hance, who runs Kathleen's Kitchen in Colchester, needed no help to win the Best Loaf needed in Show at the Open Bread Championships with his oven bottom bloomer.
The 54 year-old rose to the occasion at the Devonshire event, beating off competition from 300 other bakers in the UK.
