A PUB has made a deal with neighbours in order to get a music licence.
The Foresters Arms in Castle Road, Colchester, had an application for a seven-days-a-week music permit turned down by the council.
More than 100 residents signed a petition supporting the plans.
But two complaints over noise concerns saw it refused.
Now landlady, Barbara Kingston, has compromised on her entertainment policy to get residents on-side.
She said: “Licence officers said I could put in another application if I got the residents who complained to agree.
“We held a meeting and the two that complained came and others aired their views.
“I have agreed with them I will not have music every night and that I would stop it at 11pm.
“Its a bit less than I had hoped for but its nice to have reached an agreement.”
Mrs Kingston has now submitted a fresh application and residents have 14 days to comment.
