A BRICKLAYER is taking on Britain’s highest mountains to raise cash for charity.
Tom Buckley, of Nancy Smith Close, will climb the highest peak in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours in support of Macmillan.
Tom, 23, decided to do the Three Peaks challenge after chatting to mates in his local pub about wanting to do something for a good cause.
He has roped in a friend to join him for the climbs of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, and another do drive and cook for them.
Tom said: “I want to raise as much money as possible.
“Cancer affects a lot of people, and many people in touch with me have said Macmillan are great.
“I had never climbed a mountain before I agreed to do this, but have been to Snowdon to give me some idea."
Tom is doing the challenge on June 17. To sponsor him visit his JustGiving website.
