Proposals for a windfarm between Clacton and St Osyth have received broad support from the public, according to developers N-Power Renewables.
More than 200 people attended exhibitions to see what the five-turbine Earls Hall wind farm might look like.
A pressure group called Staple - South Tendring Against to Protect our Local Environment - has been formed to fight the proposals.
However, Vicky Portwain, project manager, said less than a third of people were against the windfarm scheme.
