New recycling calendars have had to be sent out to every home in Colchester after a mistake was spotted which made the collections wrong for the next six months.
Each week is marked out with a colour which denotes if bottles, cans, cardboard and papers are being picked up that week or green waste and plastics.
But it was quickly noticed when the new calendars went out last month that two weeks, at the end of September and start of October, were the same colour.
Dave McManus, waste and transport manager with Colchester Council, confirmed there had been an error, which had been quickly spotted and rectified.
